Is Vanguard UK FSCS protected? Where your money is actually held
Vanguard UK is not a bank and does not offer a cash ISA or a cash savings account in the UK: its ISA is a stocks and shares ISA. Uninvested cash in a Vanguard ISA or General Account is client money pooled in trust accounts at authorised banks Vanguard does not name, and pension cash is held on trust by Vanguard Pension Trustee UK Limited; deposit cover depends on those banks, and the FSCS investment scheme covers up to £85,000 if Vanguard fails with a shortfall.
Vanguard UK is an FCA-authorised investment firm and fund manager, not a bank: customers contract with Vanguard Asset Management, Limited (FCA firm reference 527839). Every statement below is taken from the source named beneath it, last checked 24 October 2026. It is information, not advice.
